Post by: Loco Coyote on July 03, 2022, 08:16:35 AM
I did a 4th of July race in my old hometown.

5K at 5K feet with splits of 6:16, 12:27, 18:32--19:06

Outstanding Loco! Your race is approximately how fast I was when I was in my prime about 35 years ago!

Dang, nice job!!!

Of course 5K elevation is probably *lower* that your current hometown, am-I-rite?

Thanks Arrojo and DrT, yeah I'm up at 7400'. I like traveling to Ft. Collins because it's only 5000 there, they put on quality races, and a lot of the courses in town are fairly flat: Denver and Boulder areas are more rolling.

One of these days I plan to race the *rolling* Bolder Boulder 10K…
For me, toggling between 500’ and 8500’ is an interesting challenge!
