Title: 5k race today

10:13 at the half, then a headwind all the way back 10 mph. Finished in 22:28. I was hoping, but then hit the wind.

Back in my day it was all headwind, uphill and 10 foot snowdrifts both ways.   :old:

Thanks again. I really wanted to get 21 something and I thought I had it when I came through the half, but I didn't think I'd slowed that much, but wind really does a number. I registered for a 10k Thanksgiving so that's the next one.

Thanks! BTW my nemesis is this awesome 10 year old kid. He must be all of four feet eight. He ran a 21:20. I was speaking to his parents at the start (didn't realize it) when I thought at the starting line that this little kid looked familiar. It was the same kid who kicked my butt a few weeks ago when I made the mistake of trying to keep up and blew out by running a 6:15 the first mile. I tried to stay with him again and did through the half when he blew me away. I told him in front of his parents and they all laughed "Rematch!" and congratulated him.
