Covid will be the least of their problems once they make it to rat jaw!
These nuts have had nothing to do for the past year but train like hell, putting themselves in a great position to fail faster and get things over with earlier. Win win for everybody! So who may or may not be 'competing'? Who's going to 'win'?
I cant think of a better way to celebrate my quarantinaversary than with obsessively refreshing barkley twitter and basking in this briar-infested shit show.
Make it fucking so!

Are you going?

I suspect spectators are discouraged even more than usual this year. But some day I will be the human sacrifice! :tombstone:

John Kelly and Gary Robbins are out (as I suspect most/all foreign runners are). Jamil Coury's reservation is confirmed! Here's his coverage from 2018 if you'd like to reminisce...

Supposedly there are a lot of strong american names entered, but the course doesn't care much. With 4 years since there's been a finisher, maybe it will be in a forgiving mood this time? :lambie:

Europe is starting to rage again, so they better get this in while they can. I wonder if Laz is vaccinated ???
The whisperings I've heard are the weekend after this one (which seems to be the customary time), but I'm ready for anything. GOGOGO!!! :runner:

Well scratch everything....it's happening RIGHT NOW!!! Laz blew the conch at 2:04am
Jared Campbell and Courtney Dauwalter are confirmed as being Out There! We have as good a chance at a finish as ever. Wet/foggy conditions are likely to throw a wrench into that, however, as they have for the past few years, what with Laz's direct line to mother nature.
GOGOGOGO!!!! :runner:

This year's bib numbers! :lambie:

Jared Campbell and Luke Nelson are out front in 10:21. It's worth noting that they were battling darkness and poor conditions, but no one has ever completed a loop this late and finished. John Kelly's split was 9:29 during his finish after a night start.
-
Well there was a whole host of nut jobs right behind them, so the odds are still decent that someone can at least get through a fun run, but pretty slim of getting much beyond that.
-
Only Jared Campbell and Luke Nelson have made it with time to start loop 3. Should have plenty of time for a fun run, but more than that is highly unlikely.
-
Two Fun Runs it was. Better luck next year with the weather and strength of the field without Covid around.
