4.2 miles before the snowstorm.
-
Bright and sunny, but cold, with a dusting of overnight snow. 19K with the legs feeling like bricks for the most part.
Mileage done should be good for an extra handful of Superbowl nachos.

7.7km “long run” day, race taper edition. 60 minute workout on the dot.
All easy (low-to-mid zone 1) except I wanted to do one km at race pace to see how my target power and HR translates to pace on a hilly technical trail (as compared to the hilly road course I ran last Wednesday)
Answer: almost the same. I guess doing 80-90% of my training on dirt has been good for something!
5:36/km for the 5th kilo. The rest of the run hovered around 8:00/km, more or less.
Since I managed to run that km at almost exactly half-marathon target power and HR... I have concluded that I’m ready and on track!

10 miles. The last 4 were into the softly falling snow which is sort of dangerously mesmerizing.
