Title: So what the hell happened to running shoes?
Post by: Suesquatch on August 23, 2020, 04:03:41 PM
They don't look sturdy anymore.  They're woven, "sock-like" fit - i love Brooks Adrenaline but have the 16s - the 20 came and they bear no relation to mine!

I've seen a little more of that over the past year or so. I'm a moderate to a lot pronator and used to run a lot in the Adrenaline, ca. 2005-12 then switched to Asics GT 2000. The Asics is very generic but they haven't changed much at all. I really like the new Saucony Guide.

Yup, the trend is a lighter upper. No more overlays, less seams. Everything laser cut and printed. Those people who tend to poke through uppers are not gonna be pleased.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled. I have a pair of Saucony Redeemer but they are HUGE.  I have to wear heavy Thorlos and lace them tightly. I used to wear Triumph but my knees need more alignment than that. The new Adrenalines feel like I'm running in marshmallows with a low toe so that feels the ground.

Me no likey. I want SHOES.

Try Asics. Many of their shoes (but not all) have solid uppers.

Thanks, arrojo.
