Platte River CO
bike path, start elevation at 5080, net gain and loss ~24 ft.
Temp 50, wind 3 mph NW
headed south for 2 miles and then turned around for the final 4.2
splits 6:14, 6:27, 6:28 (~19:43 5K), 6:27, 6:24 (dry heave at 5 miles and had to walk for a few secs), 6:26:
Final time 39:47, so achieved my primary goal of sub 40, but a little short of what I was aiming for (sub 39:20)
I'd rather have been running Bolder Boulder with 50,000 others and it was hard to reconcile the difference today.
I honor Blaine Smiley 1950-1970 who died in Viet Nam/Cambodia in 50 years ago this month. He was a friend of my brother and his friends, and I remember Blaine's easy going and quiet way.
