Title: Saturday May 9

Time Trial Day - 15K
Goal was sub 60, but that didn't happen. State Park SW of Denver (Chatfield, Bylo), elev. 5450, on a brand new service road that has a nearly flat stretch for 2.4 miles each way. It was a bit windier than I'd like, with 8-10 mph breeze out of the north (temps in low 40s and overall good running weather). So 2X out and back with a 0.13 mile kicker at the end.

I needed a 6:26 pace to break 60 minutes but never got that on average. Splits were 6:33 to 6:37 into the wind and about 6:25 to 6:30 with the tailwind. 1:00:50 for 9.33 but it felt good most of the way (although really had to work that second out and back). My wife provided support and drink. I think I'll return in July(with another 500 or so miles of training)  but start at the dam and circle about 2/3 around the reservoir to the opposite side.

After reading that, my 4 miles seems rather plebeian. But, the temp jumped 20 degrees to the low 80’s and I have been running in the very low 60’s.  Sheesh

Ran 6M instead of scheduled crosstrain so I can crosstrain with a hike with DW on Mother's Day. 3M aerobic and 3M LT. 8:56 average pace so old man is picking it up a bit.
