So after yet another bout with mid-calf tightness and pain for several weeks, I'm back at it. Have worked back up to 3 miles over the last couple of weeks. 3 today in 26:22. So not exactly burning it up, but glad to be out there anyway.

5 mile jog. Perfect day out there.

Track workout today!
Jogged 1.5 miles through the woods to the track. Then did 4 x 800m with 400 rest. Jogged home, 6 miles total.

Speaking of Woods + Track
They did a segment on Shalane during the NYC Marathon broadcast, and the showed her running on a track through the woods: lane markers and everything like on a regular HS/college track, but with big ass trees within arm's reach
Anyone know where she trains, in that sort of setting? Did she and Steve build their own private track?
My guess is the track is the Nike Campus complex one in Beaverton OR.

Yes Portland. She's been there for 8 or 9 years working with coach Jerry Schumacher, Salazar's nemesis and somewhat alter ego.
