Title: Race side effects?
Post by: Belgian Lace on May 07, 2016, 05:15:23 PM
Welp, it looks like I didn't learn my lesson and I'll be doing more ultras.  That wasn't really unexpected, especially since I'd hoped I'd like it.

What wasn't expected was my newfound addiction to Gin-Gins.

What about the rest of you?

How did I miss your ultra?!  Is there a race report?

No race report; not my jam. The best I can do is a semi-vague FB status.

It was cold, rainy, and awesome. I'm hooked.

I wasn't even in the shower yet from my 50 before I'd decided on a 100...

DH used to be big time into ultras when they were not even popular.  He tried to make me like them.  Never did.  I finished my 50-miler and he said, next thing you will tell me you want to try a hundred miler.  I said, no way.  He made me write it down and put it on the fridge. My 50-miler was my last ultra.  He never understood why I did not want to do more ultras.

CE, it was a 24 hour race, so it was a choose your own adventure kinda deal.

Congrats! I've only gone as far as 50K, but I've determined that it's far enough. I did 7 in 4 years. I am pretty sure I am skipping it this year though. I'm attempting to let my body take a bit of a break. I didn't want to miss one of my favorite races in ME though, so I signed up for the 25k and will run with a friend. That should be good enough, I hope.

I don't like gin gins, but I'm also not a ginger fan.

Gin gins and ginger chews give me a psychosomatic response of vomit because i only used to eat them when i was sick to my stomach at ultras :D

Welcome to the cult.

I've moved on to the hard candies.
