Title: NYE menus!
Post by: caribougrrl on December 29, 2015, 12:29:22 PM
are you cooking?  set menu at a fancy restaurant?

what are eating New Year's, New Year's Eve?

I've got a line on some local full-life-grass-fed prime rib and I dug up a horseradish root yesterday... clearly that will require some yorkshire pudding too.  What, I wonder, are the chances I can find some rapini?

Tomorrow is hoppin' john.  Tonight we will bring an app of some sort - I guess I should figure that out sooner rather than later!

I made some delicious low-carb crackers for dh, to be served with assorted cheeses, olive tapenade and sparkling wine for pre bar-hopping tour of the Inner Harbor. We're eating out, if we have any appetite left before watching the fireworks, so no special menu for dinner for us.

I'm sorry you couldn't find rapini but I'm sure your meal was delicious.

I made ceviche de corvina (sea bass) -- pretty special and pricy but it was the birthday of my friend who threw the party and she loves ceviche.  I also made wasabi/sriracha deviled eggs.  The party was potluck and we had a ton of yummy (and not too junky) appetizer-ish food like 7-layer dip with crudite and such.

I also brought apple vodka and ginger beer and made a drink out of that plus lemon.
