Title: Monday, 1/26/15
Post by: Eco Ellen on January 26, 2015, 10:50:27 AM
Seven miles, nine degrees, -1 windchill, 5:25 am.  I wore my daughter's balaclava, which was too small but kept the chill off.

This was supposed to have been a ten mile run with five at threshold, but I couldn't make it happen.  The ice was too much.  I'd get up to speed, then tiptoe through a big ice patch, get up to speed, walk around on the crunchy snow, get up to speed, etc.  Then my watch battery died at mile three so I just went to where I was pretty sure it was 3.5 miles and turned around and went home.

Tomorrow and Wednesday will have to be treadmill runs.

5 miles in heavy snow & wind. Normally today is my rest day, but I did tomorrow's run before the snow gets too deep.

10K.  Fortunately the snow is missing us by just a few miles.

6.30am Fine and Mild 18c. and no humidity.
One of those stop start runs. You know how it is just ambling and dreaming away.
Today I was running along the Dandernong creek and stopped to look at a couple of little native orchids, then about 10 minutes later on stopped to watch a Bushy tail possum and a couple of white cockies dicing it out for a hollow tree branch. I'll give the possum his due, he was holding his ground for the five or so minutes I was watching them;  they were still going hammer and tongs on my return towards home.
A good run; a smidge over 12km/8mile.
