Need a fruit salad recipe. Best one you've got
« on: November 19, 2012, 02:32:16 PM »
We've been asked to bring fruit salad for Thanksgiving.. Fruit salad is one of those things that I eat, it's ok, but I don't really get...I'd just as soon eat each fruit on his own.

i mix all the fruit together by hand and pour the salad into a pretty glass bowl for serving

one fresh pineapple, cubed
three or four handfuls of blackberries, washed/picked over
one cantaloupe, cubed
one pint strawberries, washed/hulled and sliced
one pint blueberries, washed/picked over
half a pound cherries, pitted and sliced
seeds from one pomegranate
two navel oranges, peeled and sliced
three or four handfuls of green grapes, washed/picked over

That sounds good. Can I omit the pomegranate seeds? And I'm skeptical about how good cantaloupe would be right now.

The awesomeness of a fruit salad is very simple:
The ratio of pineapple to melon.
The greater the P and lower the M, the better the overall salad will be.

It's math- you can't argue with it!

I can't believe how young that thread is! And, hee, here was my post... at least I'm consistent

1.  Good melon is awesome, bad melon makes me sad.

Go to store
Buy fruit
Wash and chop
Put in bowl
Take to party...
searching for that lost shaker of salt...

And the melon question?

Avoided it. ;)

Most of the fruit was grapes and berries. Very little cut fruit. Lots of dipping into the bowl for snacking by everybody. (eek)
