quiz and linked article here (http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/20/quiz-are-you-addicted-to-food/)
-
not addicted!
-
I took the quiz and was surprised to find that the results said no!
-
Test says no.
I say yes.
-
My score was zero. But... I don't like the way they phrased the questions.

1.

My addictive behavior manifests more in the teetering between in control and out of control. Since I always feel vulnerable to losing control, I see my behavior as addiction. It's comparable to a non-drinking alcoholic, always aware of temptation, usually under control but more vulnerable when stressed.
-
Mine says I'm a possible food addict.
-
0 here too. No surprise.
-
It said no, but it's probably up for debate. :)
I think at least three to four meals ahead, maybe even more.

Seriously. WTF kind of question is "I keep consuming the same types or amounts of food despite significant emotional and/or physical problems related to my eating."
I mean, you'd have to already think you had a problem in order to answer yes. And, what exactly are emotional problems related to eating?
-
It told me no but i am definitely thinking about food wayyyyyyy more than the average person and could probably tell you everything i ate for atleast a couple weeks.
-
I totally think I am, despite my score (11) that said I wasn't.
Hmm.
-
I find I'm more addicted (thinking about my next meal, obsessed with what flavors/foods I'll have) when I'm eating more. It's a neg cycle for me.
but I'm not taking the test based on the posts above
-
It said I was a 0. But I think I'm more obsessed than addicted.
I think that has more to do with my slight OCD tendencies than anything else. I was planning to take a dish to a potluck this weekend and all week I was thinking about the preparations for it. Like from beginning to end. Chopping the vegetables, timing, how it would look, taste, etc. In ADDITION to thinking of all the other meals I was going to prepare.
-
No, score = zero
-
Not addicted.
-
Score of 0. Interesting.
-
Ok, so if I'm the only possible addict here, what do you think that says about me?? :yikes:
-
I'm a "possible," too, Courtney.
