2019 by the numbers

I got in 2,462 miles of running, but missed the entire month of November and December has been about 1/4 time. Did another 60 or so hours of cross training. 360 hours for the year. I take about 2 days  off a month, plus 4-5 days a of downtime twice a year after competitions (early April and late October this year, a little off sync).

Did 15 races, ranging from 1 mile to 1/2 marathon. Six were A races and of those four went great, one was still pretty good, and the final was an injury disaster. Of the remaining races, a few were just training/tune up races and a couple were races that sort of mattered but I did not taper much for preparation.
I'll stick to running, thank you.

I ran only 284 miles in 2019 due to knee pain, but I am now able to run short distances (3 to 4 miles) at a time. I hope to ramp it back up in 2020. When unable to run, I did a fair amount of strength training.

292.2 Plus about 450 walking. First time since 1980 I didn't run 1000 miles.

16490 for decade.

2233 miles.  One month off due to a calf strain.  Two marathons, one half, one 10K.

849 miles, mostly running, some hiking, a few riding. 207 hours in duration.

I did a handful of races, badly.  Mostly at the Turkey Trot level.  The Jay Peak 11 mile trail race was a good one.

Looking to totally ramp it up this year.  Ran 100 miles in December, cranking it up again this January.  Finally seeing results, starting to get a little bit faster and stronger.

I transitioned back to sprinting for my age 60 year. So the question about mileage is irrelevant, not to mention sprintist.

I completed 25 races, only three of which were longer than 200 meters, and most of which were against much younger competitors:

Eight 50-meter dashes, 6 of which were at our all comers-meets where I usually beat the 20, 30, and 40-something’s.
One 60-meter dash last January at a Master’s Meet.
Eight 100-meter dashes, same breakdown as the 50 above.
Four 200-meter dashes, one of which maintained my running club’s age-graded crown.
One 385 yard leg on our 26 x 1 relay team.
One one-mile race.
One 5K

Overall a mixed year. Bad weather canceled my flight to Philadelphia and forced me to miss running at the Penn relays on a 4 x 100 60+ team, and injuries forced me to miss The National Master‘s track meet in July. But I’m healthy now and feel good heading into 2020.

Dunno.

I stopped keeping track of mile, hours, etc 10 years ago.  I never download my Garmin.   

Didn’t do a lot of races.
3 tris
3 duathlon
2 runs
2 run relays
All podium.   2020 rebuild year.

Ran 600+ miles and biked about double that distance, with a mix of outdoor and trainer rides.

I also looked at the decade, approximately 21,500 miles of running and another 3,500 of XC skiing (most of that 2010-14).
I'll stick to running, thank you.

It was a very low mileage year for me due to injury and just life stuff.

1225 miles, about 1000 less than I usually do, and no racing of note. I did do some cycling and spinning at the beginning of the year and I tried yoga for about 4 months.

Legs and feet feel good now. Hoping 2020 can be a normal running year for me.
