Awesome birthday celebration
« on: November 21, 2018, 05:31:20 AM »
We have three birthdays in November in my family and last night celebrated them.  I made scallops and lobster tails.  Phenomenal.
Easy too.  Recipe for the scallops:

For the lobster tails: https://sweetcsdesigns.com/10-minute-perfect-broiled-lobster-tails-recipe/

Starmont Rose out of CA was a good pairing with them too.

For dessert, no cake - but we did to chocolate pot de cremes.

Looks lovely, but a comment on the scallop recipe:  brining scallops is fine if they're your usual "wet" scallops that are often what's available in supermarkets, and soaking these in brine actually improves them.  However, if they are dry scallops, please for the love of  :fsm:, DO NOT BRINE THEM.

ETA: Here's a good explanation of wet vs dry scallops
