If you were only 10 minutes from goal, you did really well.  Impressive!

Super impressive effort. I'm sorry post-race sucked so hard! I continue to be blown away by these race reports. The weather was just brutal on Monday.

Oh man, Rochey.  You are my hero...as always.  GREAT effort and nice race report.  I'm sorry it was so painful but love how you persevered.

Yes it is rude but there are tons of bandits, sandbaggers, unrealistic starters, cheaters and everything else in our racing world these days.  If the race is so large that it has corrals then the director is probably dealing with a TON of logistics even beyond where to start people.  That being said, she didn't ask for the right data point and she could have been nicer.

I'd still run the race, personally.  I wouldn't let something like that throw me off.

All that said, I would at this point be extremely annoyed with your race people and I would probably not run it because, annoying.

Yeah, leaning that way.   I am wondering if a lot of people lie just to get a chance to be in the corral with  Joan, Uta, Billy, Meb....  Thinking that there are and you are probably right, she is just weeding that out as gently as she can because she is overwhelmed.   Hell I would just do a “Randy” and research a time before insinuating that someone is a liar.

What does sandbagging mean?

It sounds like the person on the other end of this exchange is overwhelmed.  I would let it go.

You go to a race and a person says, “what pace you gonna run”.     They say “oh ten minute miles, my leg hurts”.  They run the race at 8:00 pace.

A bit of an analogy.  People have to send us their hard copies of expense reports along with original receipts.  I know this is a pain in the ass but it's the same rule for everybody.  People will often say "but I got an electronic receipt so why can't I just send that to you" and the deal is, you're just making our lives harder because we need the original receipts.  So print the thing out and send it to me.  Otherwise I have to do it.  And I got a shit ton of other things to do rather than print your receipts for you and organize them.

Your person should have just asked for exactly what she wanted.  Sorry it's turning into a pain in the ass for you.
