yes, it's german but yes, it's delicious

white from pinot noir, so not surprisingly is reminiscent of champagne in flavour... slight blush, very slight carbonation... drinks well slightly chilled and room temp

from a blog post about it:
"The Tesch Deep Blue is an interesting white. The term ‘Blanc de Noirs’ refers to the fact that this is a white wine vinified from red grapes. This is accomplished by only fermenting the juice extracted from the grapes while preventing the skins from having any extended contact during the process. Red wines typically gain their color from being fermented in contact with the grape skins, stems and seeds; this is also where the tannic qualities of red wines originate.

The wine itself has a brassy hue, which is deeper than most whites. Although given that the grapes involved are red some color can be expected. On the nose the Deep Blue enjoys notes of red fruit, peach with some minerality. The flavor profile of this wine is what makes it unique, it’s a dry medium to full bodied white wine with notes of strawberry, cherries and some peach. However if the wine is served at room temperature more similarities to a traditional pinot noir shine through with notes of earth and minerality. There is almost a hint of effervescence and it enjoys a healthy acidity making it ideal for food; it pairs beautifully with our daily house made charcuterie."

It is a very highly rated wine on Vivino!  I'll look for it.

One of my go to wines!!  I am partial to Tuscan reds though.

Felicette Grenache Blanc.  If you can find it anywhere, pick it up.  It was one of the selections at a wine show here a month ago, and I bought the last bottle in the province last week. I've never had grenache blanc outside of a blend before.  It's lovely.

(Plus this label is fantastic.)

2010 La Rioja Alta Reserva Vina Alberdi, Rioja (375ml)

At 12.99, this is a steal.  Medium bodied red that is delightful.

It's not available here in MD at the county liquor stores.  Did you find it at Total Wine in VA?

Second time I've had this wine and it does not disappoint, especially if slightly chilled before serving:

No.  There is a locally owned wine and beer store near my house that has it.  You can order it online though...

Ironside Pinot noir- smooth, more full bodied than a typical Pinot. Delicious!
