It's delicious! I think it's supposed to be smoother than regular coffee, or something, but I'll drink hours-old coffee in the office, so I'm not the best judge. Not sure why it's everywhere. It's great where I live because it's so goddamned hot most of the year, it's nice to get the caffeine fix in a cold drink. And it's quite the caffeine fix, for sure.
The thing I don't understand is the nitrogen coffee. I've tried it a couple of times and I just haven't gotten into it.

I think it's DELICIOUS.
Also, the brew method makes it smoother and less acidic. I drink it black, but can't drink drip coffee black.
I don't understand why it's more expensive at coffee shops...because it's a really cost effective way to make coffee at home. I get at least a week's or more worth out of 12-14 oz of coffee grounds, because you make coffee concentrate, then dilute it with water.
It makes great iced coffee, but I also use the concentrate to make hot coffee by adding boiling water.
It's faster and more consistent than drip coffee, imho.

But I saw Dunks advertising it today, so I figure it's time for even basic bitches like me to get on board.

I think Starbucks' cold brew is slightly better, but Dunks is cheaper. I'm not sure how one could be better than the other, maybe the dilution ratio they use? The other advantage to the cold brewing process is supposed to be that you can use less than superior beans/grounds and get a really, really good cup of coffee.
I make mine with a Toddy coffee maker but lots of people just use a big mason jar and layers of cheesecloth as a filter.

It's so good! Starbucks is actual one of my faves. It's totally different than iced coffee.

I know. I fucking hate mason jars.
Did I ever bitch about the wedding I went to a few years ago where everyone was given a mason jar and we had to drink out of it all night? A couple hours in I was begging the bartenders to find me a clean wine glass.

I have never heard of that practice... sounds awful.

DH drinks cold brew 90% of the time. And he makes it at home - super easy.

We had mason jars full of wild flowers at our wedding. Nobody drank out of them. ;)

They use mason jars now for your glass at Bob Evans (I can only think of MoS when I talk about bob evans now.) But they also give you straws, so it is easy enough to drink out of. But I don't like, just give me a regular glass.

We don't add chickory and DH drinks it black.
Also, once you get the ratio of coffee to water correct, you can adjust the recipe as needed.

Also, we were supposed to write our names on them with markers that smudged off immediately.

I let it sit for at least 24 hours. 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Toddy maker, 6 oz coffee grounds, 3 cups of water, the next 6 oz of coffee, 3 more cups of water. Pat down the top, let sit for 24 hours, then strain through the very dense filter.
I've never used the french press, not sure if the filter makes a difference?

We just let the grounds sit in water overnight and then strain in the morning. Super easy.

It's more expensive because you have to use a lot to make little.

We have some mason jars for drinking but they are specifically made for that, they have handles on them. :D
