red meat vs. white meat

So, aside from poultry and fish, do people really make that distinction in their diet? I thought the distinction betw. red and white was artificially created in advertising.  I don't eat much meat (maybe twice a year), but Lily's cholesterol thread made me think of this.

Yes...lots of people do. Red meat is much more linked to health problems....gout being an obvious one.

I don't eat beef, but I will eat lamb, bison, and some lean pork cuts.  While still considered red meat, none have the bad rep beef does for people with heart disease.
People put a lot less effort into picking apart evidence that confirms what they already believe.

From a dietary and nutritional perspective, yes there is a difference. White meat is lower in cholesterol and leaner.
You can eat chicken and turkey daily and it would be very very good for you. If you ate beef, lamb and pork every day, well...  :-\ maybe not so great for you.
