Title: Saturday January 6
Post by: Arrojo on January 06, 2024, 11:58:10 AM

Passed a huge milestone in my comeback from heel/Achilles calcification. My first true sprint workout on the track in four years! After a good 20 minutes of warm-up drills (high knees, butt kicks, Mach A&B skips, grapevines, strides). I did 3 x 60 meter sprints @80-85%, standing start. And my foot felt fine! (I would’ve done more, but Dr.’s orders to hold back).

Although I was optimistic, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect.  A huge thank you to my PT.

Next up, a track meet at the end of the month, and then back to training hard for the spring/summer track season.

This is a big year for me as I turn 65 and so will be the young kid in the 65-69 age group for masters track and field. If I can stay healthy, and all of my body parts hold up, I hope to compete at Nationals in July.
