Running / Re: Monday, April 8th« Last post by Loco Coyote on April 08, 2024, 05:23:04 PM »I delayed my long run to today because the weather was bad yesterday (50-75 mph wind gusts) and my legs were trashed Friday and Saturday.
17 miles with 1 mile warm up, 15 mile progression starting at 7:40s to about 7:02 (3 mile increments). I had planned on sub 6:40 for the last few but could not get any faster. Progressions are really hard because you have accumulating fatigue while trying to get faster as you go. 53
Running / Monday, April 8th« Last post by glwestcott on April 08, 2024, 04:07:37 PM »Nice enough mid 40° day with rainy morning and supposed to be rainy evening, but dry during my 3 miles. Unfortunately complete cloud cover so no view of even the partial eclipse this time.

Running / Re: Saturday, April 6th« Last post by Loco Coyote on April 07, 2024, 06:12:42 PM »We had the winds from hell for 30 hours, sustained 20-30 mph and gusts yesterday to 65 and 70+ overnight. I managed an easy 6 Saturday along a creek to keep out of the way of the storm, which was just getting started.

Running / Friday April 6« Last post by Loco Coyote on April 05, 2024, 04:38:54 PM »After 43 years of being self-coached I'm trying something new. It's a little different. I didn't do anything new this week, but with more packed in just a few days so my legs are tired.
Today 9 and 3/4 miles with uphill tempo run, starting at 7200 up to 8100' elevation, followed by 8X 45 second @1500-3000 m race effort. So kind of a triple kick in the pants (tired legs, uphill, elevation). I'll get a recovery tomorrow and couple easy days early next week but Sunday will be tough. 59
