Prague Marathon
« on: May 09, 2018, 06:08:38 PM »
Galen Rupp was first in the Prague Marathon, running 2:06.09.  He won by just under a minute.  He was running with an Ethiopian whose PR was under 2:05 for the first 1:55 minutes.  At that point he made his move and ran the rest of the race alone.

American GOATs (Greatest of All Time)

1) Shorter (2 Olympic medals, effectively gold because cierpinski was a documented drug cheat)
2) Rodgers (4 wins at Boston and NYC)
3) Meb (won Boston and NYC, silver at Olympics and a 4th) [note Rodgers and Meb are a toss up]
4) Marc Plaatjes (South African who emigrated to USA, World Champion and would have been dominant had they given citizenship 5 years earlier)
5) Rupp (2:06, won Chicago, and Olympic Bronze)
6) Kkanouchi (2:05 and Chicago winner, but did his fastest before citizenship)
7) Salazar (3X NYC and 2X Boston winner)
8) Hall (2:04:58 at Boston/wind, 2:06 non-aided PR)
9) Beardsley (2:08 at Boston, a couple 2:09s)
10) ??? Meyer, Durden, Ritz, Spence? Ritz has the fastest (2:07) but Spence won a world championship medal; Meyer won Boston, Durden ran sub 2:10 and had a great career

I'll stick to running, thank you.
