this thread is for accountability
(and, perhaps, bookmarking)
I am always looking at recipes and thinking that if I "like" them on FB or <3 them on twitter or stick them on pinterest I will somehow remember to go back and make them. And then mostly I don't. So this thread is for all those things we REALLY REALLY want to remember to try and are afraid we will forget.
like these crackers:

I keep wanting to make homemade ravioli, and I never do. I had some venison ravioli not long ago, and it was soooooo good. My brother already got a deer so I know I have some venison heading my way. I WILL make ravioli with some of it!
-
Lord... I'll have to post a few of the gazillion NY Times recipes I've saved in my online recipe box. Lately I've been thinking about Yorkshire pudding.
-
I have so many recipes saved - I doubt I will ever get through them. And I keep finding more.
-
If you include "scared to try," then tamales.
One of these days.

Ah yeah, me too. I would love to make them, but I hear it's a big PITA/undertaking.
Maybe we just need a good tamale lady.
-
I really just want a friend that makes tamales. I also need one that makes fried chicken and eggplant parm (two other dishes I can't be bothered to ever make but love to eat).

We always need a good tamale lady! :)
Honestly, I just want to be invited over to one of the tamale making gatherings. I really need to make that happen...
-
i make the best eggplant parm. my assistant makes delicious fried chicken. if you learn to make tamales, bonita, i'll arrange to get you batches of the other two.

Will you buy me new pants, too? Because I'm not going to fit into these anymore...
-
you really want pants? skirts are much friendlier.
-
I fully intend to wear more skirts, but I am worried I will forget to.
-
:D
-
I always forget to heat up the parker house rolls, but they're Pepperidge Farm, so I should remember. :(

We were talking about tamales earlier in this thread.... Some other foodie friends and I were talking and we've decided to find someone to do a tamale making class for us next Christmas.
Four or Five of us, 40 or 50 bucks apiece and we provide the home and ingredients... I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier!

I wish I lived near you because I would be all over that!

sounds amazing. I would do that too! (or hallacas, the Venezuelan version)

Good thought! I've always kind of thought the lean toward the Mediterranean type fillings was the big difference. Everybody does their masa different so I have no idea if it's supposed to have a different taste.

Come on down! :D

I knooooow! We had this amazing cauliflower & manchego soup while skiing the other day and I was actually looking for a recipe for that when I came across those hand pies. I would probably make them like empenadas though. Anyway-- not really healthy so on the "some day" list. :)

What a great site! DD loves Indian Dal (specifically "baby dal").

hallacas are my favorite - the local "mexican" restaurant makes them, and they are delicious.

I'm on a cauliflower & cheese kick lately. But this looks amazing: https://smittenkitchen.com/2010/02/cauliflower-and-caramelized-onion-tart/

Can somebody please go to the municipal market and ask one of the ladies to send me a ball of pipian paste? There's no way I'm going to assemble all those ingredients from scratch, but I really want to try the sauce. Thanks!

My mom bought me, "plenty" for my bday. Just cracking it open and this looks fantastic. Though no one around here but me will eat okra.
