Grilled oysters
« on: April 11, 2016, 10:43:09 AM »
My SIL had an oyster fest at her house yesterday -- she hired some guys to come in and shuck a gazillion oysters and we gorged ourselves on mollusks. She actually ordered more than we could eat (unthinkable! I had SO MANY), so we brought 3 dozen home.

Tonight I'm going to grill them -- I'm doing this recipe. http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/grilled-oysters-spicy-tarragon-butter

I've made grilled clams before (it's genius! so easy!!) but never grilled oysters. Can't wait to try them.

I love, love, love grilled oysters.  DD would rather eat these than most other proteins.

So, they were gooooood. And the spicy tarragon butter was awesome on them.

We suck at shucking so this is a great way to eat a whole bunch of oysters.

I went to a wedding years ago where the Baltimore couple hired someone to shuck fresh Chesapeake oysters at the reception.  Bottomless oysters :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:.  They had to drag me away from the oyster station.
