Sorry if this type of question has been posted before. I bought my instant pot maybe 2 years ago - I think they've come a long way since then? He's a year out of college and has taken interest in cooking - and has done well with the crock pot and sheet pan recipes.....
Help me figure this out - I don't have time to research! :) :) :)

I don;t think the choices are many. I have one with 7 settings. I would buy the large even if he's living alone, because you can put squash, etc., in it.

There are three sizes, 3qt, 6qt, and 8qt. For somebody who is cooking for just a few people, I think the 6qt model is the one to get. I saw the 8 qt model at the store the other day and it takes up a lot of room. I wouldn't have counter space / cabinet clearance for something that big even if I needed the extra capacity.

Yes, I would get the middle one. I did not know there was a larger one than that.

We have the 8 quart and really like the size but I also do a lot of whole frozen chickens and large quantities of stock.
For one person the 6 is plenty.
