Matcha Green Tea
« on: July 14, 2013, 03:48:45 PM »
I'm learning to like it with a bit of sweetener and coconut milk.
I was told to drink green tea as an anti-oxidant but didn't like the flavor, so this is kind of nice.

Anyone else drink matcha?

Are you referring go the matcha powder?  I love that in ice cream.

yes, matcha green tea powder.  I like it in ice cream and mochi as well, and Starbucks makes a green tea frappuccino; it's flavor is loosely based on matcha tea.  But drinking it straight is a different experience and I'm liking it.

I bought some genmachai loose tea and it has matcha in it. I have never seen it before.  it tastes all right, though.  The real matcha, unsweetened, is quite expensive.  There are imitations out there.

It is pricey but a little is going a long way.

I hadn't heard of that but when I'm on a health kick I drink green tea that also has some healthy fruit in it like, acai, pomegranate, blood orange, etc...I add a little local sourced honey...
searching for that lost shaker of salt...

Absolutely.  Well worth it.  I have the two varieties: unsweetened and sweetened.

I thought of you: they had free samples at whole food supermarket. It was OK, but I prefer it combined with something else.

thanks!  I like it iced with milk and a bit of sweetener.  Not sure I'd like it any other way.
