He placed a flat disk on top of the wooden part, then slammed the steel up and down on it.  Next shot was of a cinnamon stick boiling in water.

The recipe was a churro with strawberries.

I would assume it's a manual churro maker, but your description of the process sounds like he would have to be using it upside down.

Oh my badness!  You are absolutely right.  Later in the video it can be seen.  I didn't even look at it, was staring at the churro batter.

If that churro was boiling in water and not fat, I think I’m eating churros every day for the rest of my life.
