Keta salmon
« on: July 06, 2013, 10:37:39 PM »
is tasty! :eats: And about half the price of the other kinds. Imma gonna have to go back to the store for more. Seriously, I made two portions and ate one, then went nuts and ate the other one too.  :sneaking:

I bought some steelhead trout - looks just like salmon, but has a slightly lighter taste.  We are big salmon lovers, so will have to try the Keta.

keta seems to be the "low end" salmon. That is what they put on sale regularly at the supermarket, at least.

Yep, its flavor isn't as strong. But I find it quite tasty.

I have never seen this item for sale. In fact, until this thread I had never heard of it.

I finally bought some!  It was at my supermarket, for $5.99/lb.  I bought 2 lbs!  That's several meals, so it better be good!  :D

 :)

The local stores don't seem to have it these days. Be glad you're closer to the fisheries!

Costco always has steelhead trout.  I've been afraid to try it and always choose the salmon instead, at a higher $per pound price.  I'm going to get the trout next time.
