Taking pictures of food can be dicey. Although the photographer may consider the aesthetics of their food to be awesome, the outcome is less than appetizing in appearance to others. Nonetheless, I'll take a chance here!
Inspired by the photo of Barry's GIGANTIC tomato in the 30 days of photo thread in Yammering, here's my mid-afternoon lunch, also tomato-based, i.e., bruschetta made from Allandale Farm's tomatoes accompanied by burrata and a sangiovese from Temecula CA.

Mmm that burrata looks yummy!!! Great shot.

It's a great pic and a great meal. I want to sit down at that table right now.

I :heartbeat: buratta!
Tomato season in MA seems short, so I glut myself on tomatoes in August through mid-September (or whenever the season fades). Today's lunch was caprese salad (not very photogenic though).

There's nothing quite like a ripe, summer tomato. It's a gift. I love lightly toasted (good!) bread w/ a little mayo and salted tomato. Perfect meal.

I am a total tomato snob. I eat them nonstop this time of year. I refuse to eat them in the winter.

Womble, that birthday spread looks delectable, and the photo is great! Nicely composed and good depth of field with the wine in the forefront, goodies in the middle, and comfy welcoming fireplace in the back.

Mmmmm...guess what I'm having for lunch! :)

To quote the late, great John Denver, there’s only two things that money can’t buy... and that’s true love and homegrown tomatoes.

On another topic, I like John Denver. Still listen to him on my walks.
