Beautiful day for a 10k

52 degrees at the start. I didn't feel like pushing it so I relaxed and finished in 50 minutes, which is slow, but whatever.

It’s all relative. 30 years ago, 50 minutes for a 10k would’ve been slow for me.  Now I’d be ecstatic to run that for a 10K. Congrats!
I would get drunk on Bud Light with Dylan Mulvaney.

Thanks! I'm just glad we're doing real stuff. It doesn't feel normal to not run races. The first real one I had was in July. Slow for a 5k at just under 25, and I've been trying to do a race every weekend since so my last 5k was right at 22. I'm trying to get faster and using races as speed sessions.

You could also do midweek speed workouts. Like 400m or 600m repeats.

I'm trying, but it seems like every time I hit a track I strain my hamstrings where they attach at my butt. I've dealt with that for a number of years now and I get to where I think I'm good with it, then I go to a track and get hurt. But you're right, I do need to try that again. My training has been 1 day biking (about an hour), 1 day running (about an hour), plank for two minutes, limber up ten minutes on the vibration plate and 20-30 minutes in the sauna before going to bed. Not much else....
