5k. The time was shit, but it was the same course, so I know the speedwork is doing something because it was 2 minutes faster. I'm doing 40 minutes warmup on an elliptical and 6 half-mile repeats on a treadmill. I started a number of weeks ago at 9 mph w/60 seconds between and now I'm at 9.7 mph. I have a flat mile this weekend.

Here's 2xOlympian Anthony Famiglietti doing a 4 minute mile on a treadmill.

Congrats.

2 minutes is a big jump in a 5K, so good work.

If you're so fast, why did it take you a week to post this? ;)
CONGRATS! :)

One thing I've found out is that treadmill training, while boring is great for getting a good sense of pace.

Yesterday as a test I warmed up like I do for 40 minutes on the elliptical and then I did a mile at 10 mph. It felt hard, but not that hard. So hopefully I won't shit the bed tomorrow when I do the mile.

Ran another 5k. Came in 6th overall. 1st old fart. Went out way too fast and blew up.

Same workout. 40 minutes on an elliptical followed by 6x800 m repeats w/60 seconds rest at 9.8 mph.

Up to 10 mph.

Raised the bar to 10 mph w/1% grade. Supposedly the same as road running at 1%.

Just make the treadmill is level to begin with. 😏
