The ability to make it in a *mason jar* explains a LOT about this trend.
I know. I fucking hate mason jars.Did I ever bitch about the wedding I went to a few years ago where everyone was given a mason jar and we had to drink out of it all night? A couple hours in I was begging the bartenders to find me a clean wine glass.
Yeah, not a fan of nitro coffee either. It has that sour over extracted flavor. So, I've made coldbrew at home but didn't love the results. Anyone have a fave method to share? (we did it in tour french press-- let it sit for 12 hours or something and then pressed)
I let it sit for at least 24 hours. 1 cup of water in the bottom of the Toddy maker, 6 oz coffee grounds, 3 cups of water, the next 6 oz of coffee, 3 more cups of water. Pat down the top, let sit for 24 hours, then strain through the very dense filter.I've never used the french press, not sure if the filter makes a difference?
