Was there an intentional "post your best burned stuff!" thread, or were people bragging on their burnt goods without irony?

it just happened that people posted pictures of the food they made, and it was burnt... it is not clear to me whether they recognized it was burnt...

like, the corn dog was accompanied by "Pogo stick day!!!"

Jeez. I know food photography is one of the most difficult genres of photography, and that it's often difficult to capture a decent food image with a cell phone camera, but this is really beyond bad...

Was this picture taken from a medical journal?  Because I think it was taken from a medical journal.  :nono:

What IS that??  (cannot be strawberry shortcake)

I am still traumatized by that photo. I have no idea what's going on under the bread and clinging to the sides of the dish. And does the bread have a bite taken out of it, like with teeth-marks and all? And if this is just a big joke, what is the joke?

I am wavering in my commitment to this project.

But, then again...

hors d'oeuvres for Deon's 50th birthday:

yes, that is marbled cheese, chopped gherkin pickle, and sliced vienna sausage or some other sort of pickled weiner on a toothpick

Compared to the other stuff you've posted, this looks downright tasty!  (I'd probably eat it.)

Agree! It looks good, in a nostalgic, sneaking apps at parents cocktail parties kind of way!
