Air fryer tips and recipes

Fried pickles came out very good. My recipe used Parmesan and breadcrumbs as the crust, and you need a creamy dipping sauce.

The air fryer did NOT disappoint when it came to wings.

Now I want to make wings every day!

Agree on the wings.  We also really like the potato wedges (with russet potatoes) and brussel sprouts.

OK.  I have to say I am loving my air fryer.  Easy, fast and delicious.  We did bone in chicken thighs last night. Yum.

I agree! I was kind of skeptical that it was going to be a one trick pony, or that it was just overhyped in general. But it’s turned out to be pretty great for a lot of things, and I’m happy we replaced our toaster oven with it.

That is Eliza’s mission. Not gonna lie, fresh from the oven jelly donuts sound pretty good. I even have some strawberry refrigerator jam I made, to fill them with.

Ok, so how much are you all loving your air fryers? It sounds like they’re getting used a lot?

I don’t want to add another appliance, but some of what you’re making sounds good!

We only got ours because our beloved toaster oven was ancient and needed to be replaced. I did not really want another gadget, but I’m now glad we got it. I don’t really consider it a “must have” in the kitchen, but it’s very useful if you do have one.

Similar to an instant pot - not a must, but gives you some good options.

I was in a bit of a cooking rut and the air fryer got me out of it.

I kind of want the toaster oven/air fryer combo, but I’d have to either give up my microwave/convection oven or my gas oven. I rarely use the gas oven but it’s built into the boat and would be harder to change out.

I hate having to store a toaster though.

I have the air fryer/toaster combo. I had the basket air fryer when air fryers first came out to see if i liked it and then upgraded. I use it a lot.

Love my air fryer and it gets a ton of use, mostly just for vegetables I'd typically roast.

Mine has a rotisserie, though it only fits the tiniest chickens, and you have to truss the hell out of it, but BEST CHICKEN IVE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE DAMN LIFE. 60 mins at 350. It’s bizarre how good it is. Hubs was giving me a hard time for buying another gadget that would take up space, but then he was like DAMN THAT CHICKEN IS GOOD

Yes! I can’t rotisserie a bird bigger than 4lbs... but that bird is SO good.

Chicken with skin on is pretty great no matter how you make it in the air fryer.

Haha x posted. I couldn’t wait to jump in and talk more about rotisserie!!

I have a Vortex, which is made by the instant pot people. I didn’t pick it, it was a gift, but I definitely recommend it.

Ha!
Is putting the chicken on the spit one of your biggest dreads, too? Omg, I hate handling a chicken this much

I definitely do not enjoy it. I have some food safe reusable elastic bands that make it a pretty quick job, but it’s still more hands on work with a raw chicken than I really prefer!

Hmmm, the rotisserie function might put me over the edge. We had to stop buying the Costco chickens after reading an article about how horrible they’re treated and we’re missing it a lot.  Which one do you have orza? There was a model I saw a few weeks ago that looked kind of neat, but I know nothing about it function wise.
